Homax Water-based Spray Texture is formulated for patching existing interior drywall textures, or for adding new texture to walls and ceilings. Convenient aerosol application enables you to match professionally applied “orange peel” and splatter-type textures.
For FINER orange peel, can may be heated by running under warm water for 2 minutes.
Protect surrounding area from overspray.
DO NOT SPRAY ON CLOTHING, FURNITURE OR CARPET. VENTILATE AREA WELL.
• Use warm water for clean up.
• Sprays best at room temperature.
• If pressure is too low, place can in warm water for two minutes, if pressure is too high, place can in cold water.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: MAKE ANY NECESSARY WALL REPAIRS BEFORE APPLYING. FOR BEST RESULTS, PRIME / SEAL AREA BEFORE AND AFTER APPLYING TEXTURE.
Cover surrounding items to protect from overspray.
- Shake can vigorously for one minute.
- Twist off safety tab from nozzle.
- Pointing away from face, turn dial
• CLOCKWISE for FINE ORANGE PEEL
- If fine pattern seems to heavy, rotate dial back and forth multiple times, then back to fine setting.
• COUNTERCLOCKWISE for HEAVY SPLATTER
- Spray at arms length, or 24-36" from surface
- Always practice spraying on cardboard or scrap drywall to determine preferred pattern. Spray using a circular, or sweeping motion. (Texture should cover less than 80% of surface.)
- After use, clear nozzle by turning can upside down and spraying until texture is cleared.
DRY TIME: Texture can be painted after 30 minutes under normal temperature. Heavier textures may require longer dry time.
FAQ
What is the Safety Tab for?
The safety tab is designed to help prevent discharging in the store. It is simply twisted off by the end user before use.
What if my can doesn’t have a safety tab?
Most likely this means that someone has torn it off already. No worries. The can should still spray just fine.
How many patterns does the New Adjustable Nozzle Spray?
We feel the new nozzle applies 5 distinguishable patterns, ranging from fine orange peel to heavy splatter. However, you can even spray a finer fine by running the can under warm water and coarser by running the can under cold water.
How do I clean out the nozzle after use?
Simply turn the can upside down and spray until material no longer discharges. The nozzle will be clear and ready to spray the next time you need to use the product.
What if the nozzle comes off the cradle?
Simply place the “dial” of the nozzle assembly back into the groove of the base and apply slight pressure to securely seat the stem into the hole. Be careful not to damage the stem.
Can I heat or cool the can to get a finer or heavier pattern?
Yes. Heating up the can in warm water will enhance the propellant, and spray a finer texture than a room temperature can, and a colder can will exhibit the opposite effect—a coarser spray.
What if my can doesn’t spray at all?
Be sure can is shaken very well—until ball rattles. Try to remove the nozzle, then replace and try again.
My can sprayed out a “blob” of texture when I first depressed the nozzle?
Sometimes this occurs when the can is not shaken well enough. This should clear, and the rest of your material should be fine.
My can sprays out in a stream, and doesn’t atomize like it should?
Try heating it up by running it under warm water. It might be too cool to atomize.
How much do I need to shake the can?
It is important to shake the can until you hear the ball rattle.
